I got a question recently from a follower asking a question I’ve heard many times before. This person has converted to Christianity after having been a Pagan for some time, and wondered if and how they could incorporate their past practices into Christianity.
I know that many Priests, Reverends, Fathers…whatever the leader of your particular denomination may be called, may see Paganism and its practices as Heathenistic, or Satanistic, but I have a different outlook on it. Now this is obviously biased because of my personal beliefs but none the less…
If you believe in God, believe in the Catholic or Christian faith, there is no reason you can’t continue your practices from when you were Pagan, or incorporate new ideals into it. The particular questions usually pertain to worshiping the earth and its elements. What I would like to say is that if you have chosen to believe in God within the Christian faith, remember that in that ideal, God created the earth, and there is nothing wrong with worshiping his creations and the forces that keep it alive.
Many pagans worship the earth and the elements, the power behind such energies, and the processes they create. That is not an exclusive idea, and many faiths believe the same thing in different ways, and nothing in the bible says you can not worship God by appreciating what he had created.
Religion is a structure. Belief and Faith is personal. Remember that, and know that no one can tell you how to worship, how to belief, or how to feel your faith.
Blessed Be.

The earth I tread on is not a dead inert mass. It is a body—has a spirit—is organic—and fluid to the influence of its spirit—and to whatever particle of the spirit is in me.Henry David Thoreau (via allthingssoulful)

Just realized I reblogged that picture of two guys (one of them Andrej Pejic, I think), and just noticed now. Sorry about that!
I meant to put that on my photo blog, where I keep references for my artwork. I like to keep things separate, so it’ll be easier to look back on. The photo blog is mainly just for pictures of people in random positions, animals, scenery, still life, etc. Tumblr has a great supply of rad photos.
Anyways, that was weird to put here, and again I’m sorry. Won’t happen again!
